SILENT PARTNERS WANTED
I was told I must not refer to my reading public as minions so…
Bonjour les amis,
I was talking to a friend recently (not a Friend, just a friend) who said, “I believe in libraries. I just don’t go that often.”
So, if you’re like my friend who frequents the library infrequently, but still loves and appreciates all it stands for, consider becoming a Silent Partner of the Friends of the Bergenfield Library. No meetings, no committees, no responsibilities. Just glance at their mailing once a month and agree that Libraries are magical places, the custodians of civilization.
Click on one of the little PayPal links and join the Friends as a silent partner. If and when the time comes that you wish to be heard, you can attend one of their monthly meetings. (Personally I’ve always felt that the ideal meeting is one with me as the chairwoman and the other members in bed with the flu.) Thought of the day from Studs Terkel: “All you need in life is truth and beauty and you can find both at the Public Library.”
Your Silent Friend,
