Need a quiet place to study, do research, or write a report? The Library has two options available for visitors. The purpose of our study rooms is to assist Bergenfield residents who wish to study and work in the library. We hope that these rooms will provide an area free of distractions with minimal noise for patrons.
We encourage those who use these rooms to take their valuables with them when they leave the room even for a short period. The library is not responsible for items left inside the rooms.
Sleeping, eating or drinking is not permitted in any study room. We ask your cooperation in keeping noise to a minimum. Headphones are available for free at the Reference Desk. Cell phones must be turned off when using the study rooms.
Option 1 – Two Quiet Study Rooms are available on the Clinton Avenue side of the building and can accommodate up to 6 people. Individuals who are tutoring, preparing for presentations or group projects, writing papers or doing research are welcome to use these specific rooms.
A reservation is required to use these rooms (can only be reserved by individuals 18 and older.) Study sessions are limited to one two-hour session with same day registration. Once your reservation is confirmed, you may go to the Reference Desk and staff will unlock the Study Room.
Option 2 – Four Quiet Study Rooms are available at the back end of the Reference Area and do not require a reservation. Each room can accommodate up to two people. During busy times, you may be asked to share a Study Room.
To sign up for a Study Room go to the Reference Desk; identification in the form of a library card, driver’s license or School ID is required at sign-in.
