Important Announcement About ESL Classes
All classes are being held virtually at this time– on Zoom and other apps. If you are interested in teaching virtually, please contact us. We offer technical support to help tutors and students. We also want to hear from you if you prefer to teach in-person when it becomes safe.
Our Mission
The mission of our ESL program is to help adults in the community learn English so that language is not an obstacle to understanding, opportunity and unity.
How Does the Program Work?
Volunteer tutors work one-on-one or with small groups for as little as an hour per week. Tutors may also choose to lead more informal conversation classes. Dates and times are determined by the tutor and student(s).
What are the Prerequisites?
All tutors will participate in a free four-part training workshop. Materials are free.
No formal teaching or foreign language experience is required. We ask only for your enthusiasm and desire to make a difference in someone’s life!
